What PCOS and symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome.

 What is PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) ?

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is the most prevalent disorder in recent era in younger girls in premenopausal age.

It is not necessary that PCOS is present in obese or over weight girls but also in underweight girls.

The only treatment to polycystic ovarian syndrome is weight management either you are obese, overweight or underweight.

There are following things that should be considered in PCOS especially if you are overweight or obese.

Fruits and vegetables:

Always use fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.

Juice Fasting for PCOS

Don’t prefer fruit juices over raw fruits consumption.

Always use such fruits and vegetables which have low glycemic index.

High glycemic index fruits and vegetables should not be used.

Juice fasting:

At least have one day in a month in which you solely consume vegetable juices,

i.e. ash gourd juices

cucumber juices

beetroot juices

carrot juice

Don’t use any sugar in vegetable or fruit juice.

Fasting routine:

Keep yourself in fasting state for minimum 8-10 hours that can be sleeping time.

Only water can be used, don’t eat anything during fasting at night.

Fats:

Fats intake should not be more than 30%.

Unsaturated fat should be more than 20% and saturated fat should be less than 10%.

Extra virgin olive oil, omega 3 and omega 6 are best choices.

Avoid saturated and trans fats.

Cereals:

Try to use cereals which have high part of fibers in it, i.e. oats, muesli, multigrain bread and brown bread etc.

Cereals should not exceed 50%.

Don’t use biscuits, white flour and white rice etc.

Meat choices:

In meat part always prefer meat with less fat and organic meat.

Fish, mushrooms, and dasi chicken are best choices.

Meat should always be b/w 15-20%. 

Mutton and beef should only be used once in a week.

Sugars:

In sweets only stevia leaves should be used or honey and dates can be used with some good combination.

Processed bakery products, brownies chocolates and cakes are never preferred.

Dairy:

In dairy reduced milk, skimmed milk, and cheese should be preferred. Maximum 1-2 servings should be allowed.

Don’t go for whole milk or more than 2 servings per day.

Seed cycling:

Seeds use is best remedy for PCOS.

Only 1 tsp. should be used per day.

Seeds can be used in powder form mixed with regular flour or can be sprinkled over salan or in any other form.

Maximum use of water should be assured during seeds use.
